Seth Stalks Jessica On OLTL
Llanview's got a new creep. His name is Seth, and his target this week on OLTL is Jessica. As the week begins, Seth spies Jessica at the country club as she tries to figure out who dedicated a song to her. "Seth's motivations are kind of mixed right now," offers Brandon Routh of his mysterious character. "He's got ultimate plans. Maybe he likes her. The stalking isn't necessarily because he's crazy." Seth gets closer to Jessica when he enrolls in Rae's summer course (Psychology and Film) with Jess, Al and Natalie. An unsuspecting Jessica agrees to be Seth's partner for a special project. After their first class, Jess ends up trapped in an elevator. She is rescued by Natalie, and both of them remain unaware that Seth is watching them. "Seth has a bit of a shady past that he's told Jessica about, but there seems to be something he hasn't said," hints Routh. "He says he's better, that he's changed his ways. I'm not positive that that's the truth." To that end, "I'm trying to make him as nice as I can," Routh stresses. "He's kind of insecure, coming from not having money. I don't think had that great of a family life, either, so he's always looking for acceptance. He's easily persuaded to do things that maybe he shouldn't do, because he wants to be loved, respected, and given the time of day." Newsflash, Seth: Stalking young women isn't the way to do that. When Natalie leaves Jessica alone, Seth corners his apparent obsession and orders her to come with him. He takes her to an empty room, locks it and shuts off the lights. "I can't say too much," says Routh of what happens next. "When everybody actually finds out [Seth's secret], it'll be interesting."
